This photo you see here is the view from my apartment in Ahlone. Ever since I am back to Yangon in 2015, I cannot help but admire the rusty, chaotic views you see everywhere in the Y town. I’m in love with the city. I wasn’t born here but this is where I belong. I quit my job as a producer/editor in Singapore to live here. It has been two years and I never regretted it.
Everyday, I see people and buildings, I never get tired of it. It’s not so easy living here in Myanmar, with power cuts, extremely bad traffic and hot weather. But life is fulfilling in its own ways for the people of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.
To those of you who have never been to Myanmar, I challenge you to come and see for yourselves, a country at its fledgling democracy, historical flaws and its beautiful people.
I wish to share more stories about Myanmar and my filmmaking journey. Please stay tuned!
